Dharmaksetra dasa was born in October 1973, in Saïgon, Viëtnam. Since 1975 he lives in Holland. In 1991 he came in contact with the Hare Krishna Movement when he purchased a third volume of the Krishna Book, at a second hand bookshop.
He was very astonished to read about the daily activities of Lord Krishna in Dwaraka. After reading the Krishna Book he noticed at home on the bookshelf the Bhagavad-gita as-it-is, which his mother bought on the streets years earlier.
Very much convinced of the philosophy taught by Srila Prabhupada he contacted the Amsterdam Temple. His parents not wanting him to become a monk at the age of 18, convinced him to first take up studies of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Delft. After overcoming obstacles on his path he joined ISKCON in 1995, and was initiated in the next year. In the temple he was mainly serving as a book distributor.
He was involved in the establishment of the Euro Ministry of Record to fulfill the desire of Srila Prabhupada, which he serves as the Euro Minister.
In 2012 he was also appointed the Regional Secretary for the Netherlands and the Chairman on the Dutch National Council.
A married man since 1999 he now has three sons, meanwhile running an agency for child minders together with his wife.
